The Cottage

Extension & refurbishment to a Listed cottage in Climping.

  • Protracted design and planning negotiation secured a transformative approval that has breathed new life into what was a decaying heritage asset.
  • Conservation work was undertaken to remove external paint from cobbles and re-point flint-work, restore the porch and remove unsightly dormer windows and conservatory.
  • The existing ancillary outshot and barn like extension to the rear, that had to be retained, were converted and tied together with a sympathetic extension, which was designed not to draw attention away from the symmetry of the original heritage asset.
